The wife was tired of dragging hoses and sprinklers to water her riding arena, 20m X 60m (66' X 198'). She wanted me to install an underground sprinkler system. I would have to overkill on the heads to get uniform and complete coverage as no heads could be in the arena.
I did some research and bought a Micro Rain MR25 portable sprinkler system. The wife can wheel it out and set it up. It runs off the garden hose. It provides uniform coverage and only takes 2 hours to make a pass at the fastest setting. I can also use it to water the yard. It was a bit pricy at $2500 but as you know "Happy wife - happy life".
So far it has worked flawlessly. I use the 6mm nozzle to get the fastest traveling speed and wider coverage. It is actually saving me money as there is not any wasted water compared to the two fixed sprinklers and hoses she was using. It is good thing as the water company just raised rates.
