I have a 18 month old B2620 which I love, I have put just over 60 hours on it so far. I have a 54" mid mount mower and today while mowing I noticed a problem, no matter what height position I set the deck to when I lower it the deck always goes to the 2 3/4 setting. If I put it at 4 ....lower the deck the knob will turn to the 2 3/4 mark, set it to 3 1/4 same thing the knob turns to the 2 3/4 mark. Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any idea what is going on. Any help or advice anyone can offer will be very much appreciated. Thanks

Having same problems with b2320. Mine will adjust itself further as you mow.

Is this something that has just started or have you had the problem for a while?

Mine stays set and works perfectly.

I have posted about this before. The design of the height adjustment cam is not great. So when you lower it down it can cause the cam to keep spinning or slipping. There is a thread on how to repair this but I never actually tried that fix. I was having the same problem and my mowing deck would actually drop all the way to the ground while mowing. I replaced the height adjustment assembly and haven't had much slippage since then. But I still do the following to prevent the mowing deck from dropping down while mowing and

First with my left hand on the height adjustment dial I slowly lower the deck until I feel pressure on it. You can prevent it from spinning with your left hand by applying pressure on the height adjustment dial. I then will raise the deck up slightly to take the pressure off the cam and prevent it from lowering while mowing. Last I close the speed adjustment dial so that I'm not even able to lower the mowing deck.

Another thing to mention is that the height adjustment isn't even necessary to mow. You could take it completely off and still be able to mow. You would just have to eyeball the height or actually get off the mower and measure the blade height to know what you are mowing at.

I am pretty sure that this has just started, I havent noticed before. I did what you said I hold the height adjustment knob while lowering the deck.....sometimes it holds other times it will slip down while mowing. I am sure I could do as you say and eye ball the height of the cut but I feel that as the machine is only eighteen months old and for the amount that the tractor and deck cost it should work properly.

You also have to raise the deck up slightly to take the pressure off. If you slightly open up the speed adjustment knob this will allow it to move up slowly. It shouldn't slip if you do that. I also then close off the speed adjustment knob for added piece of mind.

You can also search "B2X20 MMM height adjuster" for that thread.

I found the fix that another person had posted for this. Google the search terms "B2620 MMM height adjustment" Then once in that thread, which is on the tractorbynet forum, under the eighth post there is a link to a PDF of the fix. Hope this helps.
