Anyone know if a cover for the mid PTO is available (B7610)? Just strikes me that covering it would be better for rust protection and to keep off the dirt buildup. It doesn't look like it would take one, though.

When I bought my BX2200 a year and a half ago, I asked the dealer for a mid PTO cover. He told me that there is not a cover available for the mid PTO for any of the Kubota tractors.

If you find one, let me know.

A cover came standard with my L3010 3 years ago. It is a safety item. I would think they are standard for all the machines.

A cover for the rear PTO came with my Kubotas, but not for the mid-PTO, and I never figured out any way to put one on the mid-PTO if I'd had it.

I also asked the dealer after I received my BX1800 and they said there was no mid cover. I would think that would be important for preventing damage when MMM not connected, but apparently the MFG isn't concerned about that. The only reason the provide the rear one is for safety reasons I'm sure. Heck it's kinda hard to get to the mid one to hurt yourself.

as long as we are on mid pto topic, was wondering, i don't have an implement the uses mid pto. , but would it be a good idea to engage it every so often? have had the tractor 3 years now and never engaged it.

Engaging it occasionally sounds like a good idea to me, Frank, but since I never had any implements that used the mid-PTO, I never engaged them on either of my Kubotas. I guess I actually never knew for sure whether they even worked. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

My mid-pto cover is just a rubber hose.

Almost looks like heat shrink, but that is certainly a good idea. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Have you started selling your hydro filter cover yet? To me that still looks like one of the best mods done.

For the first time the other day while plowing my garden, I hit a stick and it drove up into the underside and made a heck of a noise. I thought on no! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I immediately stopped and crawled under the unit to find I was lucky and it only hit the front drive shaft. I did tear the boot some as I was in 4wd because of the plowing.

At that point all of the past posts I had read about an under belly shield had went through my mind. Was looking at what it would take to make one, but concluded it would be difficult to make it compatible with the MMM so it would have to be something that swapped out with the MMM as when the MMM is all the way up the gear box is tucked up between the frame rails.
