Hi All,
This is my first post, but have read many of the messages. I just bought a new B7800 with a 60" mmm. I tried it out on my place for a few hours and loved it. Had the dealer pick it up and install a LA402 FEL and 72" Woods rear blade, and R4's. Got it back today and was mowing this afternoon and found the mid PTO very difficult to engage. I had to slip the clutch to engage it. While mowing it kept jumping out of gear. I had to hold the lever back to finish mowing. I also noticed the clutch had a clicking sound to it with the PTO disengaged that goes away when depressing the clutch. It's almost like the mid PTO won't totally disengage. Anybody seen this before? I'm sure the dealer will take care of it. Thanks for any input.

Well, its yer first post, so I feel kinda guilty that nobody's replied.

I don't have that model, and I have not had that problem with my 3010. My mid-PTO lever is near my leg, so its much harder to accidentally disengage than my rear PTO, which is near my butt, almost the same place/size are my rear auxiliary hydraulic. Any chance you are accidentally disengaging?

Alternatively, does your machine have a safety interlock system for the PTO? I had a John Deere which would kick out the PTO when my kid cut the grass because he would bounce up and down on the seat, causing the interlock to function. I has to adjust the interlock to stop that from happening.

Thanks Brian. I thought I might have hit it by accident, but that's not the case. It did it a bunch of times while mowing. I could watch the lever slowly drift forward then disengage. If it were an older tractor I'd just stick a bungy on it and forget it. Dealer said it didn't sound right and is going to check it out.

Man this is a great site! I've learned a lot by searching all the posts. Many great ideas! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Doh!

I meant to mention that as a fall back.

Yeah, this is one of the best sites on the web, no doubt.

Usually people are knowlegable and helpful, though sometimes, however, people don't nibble on a particular post, and I haven't figured as to why.
