Does anyone know if the deal between KIOTI and Midwest Equipment includes the Canadian based KIOTI dealers or is it limited to the USA? I am hoping it may be the best way for me to get a MidWest BB30-72 in East Central Ontario, Canada.

Thanks
bob

I would think Jim Mc here would be able to answer that for you and even give you the name of your nearest dealer if it does. I'm sure you can send him a private message to find out. I hope this helps. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks Gary
Jim Sent me a private e-mail between the time I left the office and the time I got home.
Looks like the Canadian dealer can get the Midwest attachments and I have a couple of them on the search for their best pricing on a BB30-72.
BTW - I was really impressed with your posts about your BB20-60 and they sure helped push me toward getting the same fabrication quality.
Thanks again.

Bob,

I'm glad I was able to help. The only thing I want to mention is that I'm not sure I got a 20 series piece of equipment. I seem to think mine is a 15 series.

The only reason I seem to remember that is that I recall buying what was described as a 'light duty' piece and thinking that as heavy as this thing was (both in terms of weight and assembly quality), I'd hate to try to even move anything they'd call a 'heavy duty' 30 series piece.

Most equipment dealers when talking about 3 point implements express duty as HP goes; 60-80 Hp is Heavy Duty, 40-60HP is STD Duty and below 40Hp is light duty.

Mark,

I'm thinking about getting a tiller & I have question. I see there are light, medium & heavy duty tillers with variuos horsepower ratings. Are these the minimum and maximum horse power recommended/required? If this is the case, what prevents a 30hp tractor that can pull a 6' medium duty tiller from pulling a 6' heavy duty tiller rated for 45hp?

Thanks,

Yours is a 20 Gary /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif It has a clevis hitch instead of lift pins. The 20 and 30's do not use lift pins. Glad you like it.

Big Dave, there are actually two horsepower ratings to consider.

One is the minimum horsepower required (or recommended) to operate the implement. Now you might be able to use the implement with less horsepower (sure won't hurt the implement), but you might not like it because it may not perform up to your expectations.

The other is the gearbox horsepower rating and that is the maximum horsepower that the manufacturer says you can safely use without risking damage to the gearbox. Again, you may use the implement on a tractor with more horsepower and it should work well, but if you damage the gearbox and the manufacturer knows it was used with more horsepower, it may not be covered by the warranty.

Thanks, Jim. I must've been thinking, "If this is a standard, I'd hate to see a heavy duty." /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was pretty sure Gary's was a 20 -

Now things are getting interesting in Ontario - I visited a KIOTI dealer today near Toronto and he says he will be happy to get me a BB30-72 for $895 Cdn - ($618 US). Now I expected to pay a little more that you fellas in the states because of shipping etc but the folks at http://www.kioti.com/kioti_implements/ have a BB30-72 advertised on their site for $429 US which works out to about $622 Cdn. They say they will provide a better price in a package deal. Also 19th VA from this board says he paid about $425 US for his BB30-72

The KIOTI dealer told me his list price on the BB30-72 is $618 US which makes it $895 Cdn. He has a shipment coming from KIOTI in the next day or so and could bring in a BB for me but I am now confused about a fair price.

He came down from $895Cdn ($618US) to $845 Cdn ($584 US) but it still sounds out of line to me, particularly when when shipping should not be a killer because he would be hauling it with a load of tractors from KIOTI.

Am I missing something obvious here. Is it just a coincidence that the $618US asking price he gave me may actually be the asking price in Canadian dollars.

Sure would appreciate any insights from the folks here - maybe there is a forest here that I am not seeing 'cause the trees are in the way.

Thanks
Bob
