Word is that Midwest will have "Hay Tools" next season. 3 point rakes, Disc Mowers, V-Rakes, Tedders, & Disc Mower carts are some of the stuff in the works.

What size range are they looking at? Full-sized (larger utility tractor needed), matched to big CUTs/small Utility, or a product line geared more to 30hp CUTs?

While reading some threads of the past I saw this thread and decided to reincarnate it - Word still there or these items going there to IL the Midwest?

Well as long as the thread is active I'll chime in. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I was at a farm sale this week (was zero degrees outside for a high, brought lots of farmers out because it is too cold to do anything at home - seriously). There was a 'Beefco' 3pt wheel rake on the sale bill. Couldn't find any sticker or plate on the rake, but it looked _exactly_ like the 5-wheel rake listed on CCM's web site. Only difference it was a drab orange color.

So, they bid it up & it sold for $800.

I went there looking for the rake, but not at that price!!!! Wow. Told that to a friend, and he said there's no way you could buy a new one for that price.

So, is CCM's quoted price right for a new one; would they be branded 'Beefco' sometimes; and you could probably sell a lot for about $800 in the upper midwest.....

The Befco rakes are made by EnoRossi. The CCM wheel rake above is heavier built and sells for $450 plus freight.

CCM rakes are made by Gokmenler.
They are also known as GR.. GV.. and GC.. rakes as well as seen on their web site of Agri-Supply :
http://www.agri-supply.com/catmain/2000015.htm
These rakes on Agri Supply are also known as "Grizzly" and as seen on their pages, they sell for $399.
Ps: Grizzly? LoL - If Waverly of AgriSupply replies here, I'd tell him an interesting story about their this name they use on their rakes.

Hi Mark--Are the newer versions of your rake going to have the 6 inch curved updraft on the 2 secondary wheel arms to let the heavy spring hay feed thru without clogging or will they stay as pictured?--We sold that version years ago and did not have much luck with crop flow in heavy hay--However--They did fine in shorter fall hay and 2nd-3rd-4th cutting alfalfa---Ken Sweet

How can they add a newer models if your manufacturers don't have even a single engineer..? Neither he nor Waverly can add any new model anymore. Anyway - I need to work on finish mower blade flow analytic analyse as well as a very special alloy exhaust manifold project. Enjoy the talk!

Ken,
We sold 400 rakes last year and no complaints. As you remember it was the heaviest hay crop in recorded history so if we had design problems it would have shown up. How can dealer that doesn't even have a round baler to sell call himself a hay specialist? It is too bad you have problems with you FAZA, United Farm Implement, Panorama & DHI rakes. Maybe you need to read the manual a little better on how to set & assemble the rakes.

How can you make a statement like this? Do you know for a fact who is employed by what manufacturer. I sure wish that I had a crystal ball that sees all and tells all.... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
