Have you ever used any of the Cronatron welding rods? I came across some from a friend about a year ago that was for cast iron, as they claimed there was no need to peen the welds after making the weld. I would instead knock off the flux, sanded the rod with sandpaper and would TIG weld with it and had excellent results welding up cast iron manifolds after they had been bead blasted. Then come to learn that was some super high dollar welding rod! Seems like it is over a hundred dollars a pound for the Ni rods, as I knew I didn't want to buy any!
