MIG welding uphill

Dargo, it is not the boots that bother me, it is when it goes in my ear, and last time, when the ear plugs where in my pocket because I remembered to grab them, but had not put them in before starting............

Man I hate that.

Interesting... I would love to see a similar video on how to stick weld vertical. Like JB 4310, I am always flipping my workpiece over so that I can be welding horizontally... kind of hard when you are working on a bucket or trailer, etc.!

Westbrooklawn,

I don't have a video, but it is done basically the same way. Hold the rod 45 degrees to vertical but instead of an inverted "V" pattern, use an inverted "U" pattern. Works real well with 7018 ac rods. Give it a try! Hope this is of some help.

For the record I am not responding to this welding thread... That is my story and I am sticking to it.
