Dargo, it is not the boots that bother me, it is when it goes in my ear, and last time, when the ear plugs where in my pocket because I remembered to grab them, but had not put them in before starting............

Man I hate that.

I don't have a video, but it is done basically the same way. Hold the rod 45 degrees to vertical but instead of an inverted "V" pattern, use an inverted "U" pattern. Works real well with 7018 ac rods. Give it a try! Hope this is of some help.


For the record I am not responding to this welding thread... That is my story and I am sticking to it.:rolleyes:

I've had great luck welding downhill and pushing the weld down with a stick or MIG
try it, it's easy
really :)
