Scooby074;

Sorry to hear that!

My Lincoln SP170-T is rated for 1/4 and has always done 90% of what I need

The 211 is rated for an extra 1/8 (3/8) plus being aluminum capable up to 3/8

I have used larger migs and no doubt they do produce nicer welds and you don't feel that the machine is struggling but...at 2-3 times the price not worth it for me!

I have a family member that works at a large welding shop therefore I could get things robotically welded if need be

I do have a Miller 211 (upgrade from lincoln SP100, which i still have.) Great welder, have a 12lbs role already welded up. With the money i saved from purchasing a 212 ( nearly same welder, but different duty cycle and the 212 is 230V) have bought a miller 375 plasma cutter. What i like about both, they can be either 110V and 230V.

Is there anything that the 211 does not do well or that you are disappointed with?

And how about the 375?

ericher69, having access to a welding shop via family changes everything. I dont have that luxury, but if i did, id strongly consider the 211...

The only thing i don't like bout the 211 is that the groun wire and welding gun wire is too short, 7-8 feet i believe. I will replace later with longer ones. I have not used a spool gun for aluminum so can't say about that.
The 375 plasma cutter, for what i do it's a decent piece of equipement, but i should have gone and purchase a little bigger, but at the same time above the 375 they all run on 230V:confused2: Having the possibility to run on both 110V or 230V makes it a great carry all around tool.
