Na, a chicken wouldnt keep the dog busy long:laughing:. Chicken would be gone and a pile of feathers left in about 1 hour flat.
This dog eats everything. Coon, groundhog, skunk, possum, rabbit, etc.
Needless to sayn I dont have to worry about cats using the kids sandbox as a litter box, and dont have to worry about my goldfish in my small pond either.
I see the problem...
tape worm = skinny dog = hungry = eats everything= happy tapeworm = skinny dog
kill tapeworm = dog eats lots = full dog = won't eat chicken = chicken eats bugs = bugs gone = happy chicken = lays eggs = eggsactly what you wanted!!
LD1, Have had the same problem here for several years in our 1974 built house. But nothing this year. Last year we did some home foundation repairs. What we found was that the drainage pipes all the way around the house were only about 3" below grade. And placed directly on clay with no gravel or stone underneath. We dug deeper but really only in the problem areas, got some nice gravel under and stone over the perforated pipe and connected the downspouts to the foundation drainage pipes. Made sure the pipe taking water away from the house is at the lowest spot. Needless to say we sure picked the right time for these repairs with all the rain we've had.
I'm not 100% sure we have fixed the bug problem but coincidently no millipedes this year.
Forgot to mention that we are on a slab foundation, so no basement. Never had water in the house except once two years ago which got us looking last year at the foundation drainage system.

Dont know exactly where in central ohio, but we're semi-neighbors as I am just south of Canton.
last year these exact things drove me NUTS. It coincided with me doing some lansdcaping, and bringing in mulch...then they arrived. By the thousands. All through the mulch, living in my retaining wall...and trying to get into my nice kool garage.....I would spent an hour or 2 each day killing them....particularly more active when cooler out. Bought some great spray and sprayed all around building, then would target each one.....but they were endless. They were even reproducing, as I started seeing tiny ones appear.....
I've been overseas for a few months now, but the wife just told me they are back, dont know if in full force yet....I hate em!!!
Started getting the same things in my pole building this year after the concrete floor was poured. They mainly congregate under the man door and when I open it disperse everywhere. Very annoying, I'm going to get some spray and try it.
