How is this confirmed? Everyone has pretty much figured it was true, but what makes it offical?

When you can't get in touch with them over a long period of time then it does not have to be official.

I agree. Millonzi is toast. Too bad. They did a lot to open up a CUT specific market for "light duty" grapples and other skidsteer mount implements. Their prices were half or less than what the established skidsteer implements were selling for.

It appears that more CUTs will be sold with quick attach FEL mounts so this market for CUT sized FEL implements will continue to grow. Kioti has now put standard quick attach mounts on pretty much all their tractors (at least those 30hp and above). Kubota and JD still have proprietary quick attach systems I believe but I'd imagine they might start offering the universal style too on smaller tractors. All this will encourage implement manufacturers to build CUT sized QA tools which of course is a good thing.

Millonzi produced good stuff that is pretty simple to maintain and repair so those of use who bought from them won't have any real problems but it is still unfortunate that they have disappeared. Markham and a few other smallish shops should benefit from the demand Millonzi helped create for grapples and CUT sized skidsteer implements.

Millonzi RIP

Do you think that this might have been what put them out of business?
You have to turn a profit if you want to stay open, no matter how good your product is. :(

It is a good question but I don't think their new grapple business was the issue. Markham has filled the vacuum and seems happy charging about the same amount.

Millonzi, I think, made most of their money selling consumables like bucket teeth and real commercial equipment. I suspect that the downturn in the economy (not the October crash) just cut construction enough that they felt the pain. They were a relatively new company that was formed when John Millonzi bought the business unit from some multinational company. I suspect he just couldn't operate the company at a sufficient margin to cover that purchase. That, I admit is a wild ***** guess but I think it is more likely the cause than just underpricing a couple hundred grapples.

I was looking into a Millonzi Grapple. Now that they appear to be out of business, what the next best recommendation? I see that many folks talk about ANBO, Markham and WR Long. Thx

Markham.

Agree, Markham is the closest you'll find to Millonzi. They are also semi custom which is nice.

ANBO sells massive (and massively expensive) high tech grapples made of fancy alloys/grades of steel. No question they are well made but they cost about as much as a space shuttle.

WR Long is a very solid company with lots of good products. Unfortunately they sell only through dealers and as a result are not competitive pricewise vs direct sellers like Markham, Millonzi etc. ATI would be another in the WR Long category.

I agree with the others..Markham. Although I have not received my grapple yet (ordered it yesterday), throughout the process, Melissa at Markham was unbelievable. Despite my numerous questions over a two week period, she could not have been nicer or more patient, or more helpful. Whether I phoned her or e-mailed, I always got a prompt response, with clear concise answers, and with constant cheerfulness. If their products are as good as their service, I think I will be extremely happy. I wanted a different size with features that they did not offer in their listings, and they said, "No problem." Unbelievably, this custom grapple will be made and shipped in one week. Whereas when I ordered a FEL from Kubota, which I'm sure is sitting in a warehouse only several hours away, the delivery time is "whenever they decide to ship it, could be a week or maybe a month."
