Milwaukee M18 16” Chainsaw

It's really impressive to see how battery technology and tools have come along. I haven't gone that rout quite yet, but I will admit that my favorite chainsaw is a Remington 110 volt electric 16 inch saw. It weighs nothing and it cuts as good as any of my gas chainsaws.

Seeing as how I just invested in this Milwaukee line a few months back... and already have three batteries and a charger this would be a route I would go. But the battery pictured does not exactly look like the M18 batteries I have. I have three different sized ones. Can you explain if there is any difference? The charger looks identical. The shape of the batteries look right but the graphics on that one don't ring a bell. Is that a special one comes with the saw?

Added on edit... apparently is an extra large battery. 12.0

Yes it’s a brand new 12AH battery. Fully compatible with all other M18. Different configuration allows not only higher capacity but higher output current

Re: Milwaukee M18 16 Chainsaw

Always nice when you don't have to get yet ANOTHER set of different batteries.

Too bad the high quality lines don't have the assortment of tools the Ryobi (sp?) has. I use Ridged, only because of the lifetime warranty on everything including batteries. But they have a pretty lame choice of tools.

Then Oregon cordless pole saw, regular saw and weed wacker. Love them.

Oh, and a no name cordless grease gun. That's it for my cordless stuff.

$399 almost everywhere comes with that unusually large battery and a charging station for that price.

It just came out so I think thats the only package. I don't see it without another charging station at a cheaper price. I guess it doesn't hurt to have another one though.

I believe they do make some other outdoor tools but not sure what all.

I've been redoing my shop after I wore out all my various dewalt and other brands of cordless stuff.... and sort of went Milwaukee tools and theme anyway once I invested in the tool boxes and a few of their cordless drills etc. I like the stuff. As you can see...

Milwaukee does make two difference M18 chargers: their regular charger, and the rapid charger. Any of the chargers will work on any of their batteries, but the rapid charger is really nice, especially when charging their 9 or 12 AH batteries

Almost forgot: they make a 3rd M18 charger. This one will charge an M18 battery from either a 110VAC or a 12VDC source - handy when you are working away from the grid.

One you use it you may be surprised. I was. I took down a 14-16”. Black Walnut with ease

Because of its higher chain speed it cuts faster than many gas saws

Not too many tools impress me. This one does

I used to be all Makita, then went heavy 18V Dewalt. Then 20v lithium Dewalt part way into Dewalt 20 V tried Milwaukee M18 & M12

Much prefer the Milwaukee

Just my opinion
