Miners

I saw on the news tonight a live feed of the first miner coming out.

This is a remarkable story of human endurance and survival.

Oh my... Almost like some sort of equilibrium isn't it? A show of dedication, courage, hard work and above all human compassion to save them and bring them to the top safely, Only to fins=d some money hungry low lives detracting from the greatness of the event. So sad..
But its is over shadowed by the dedication of the rescuers.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Sort of reminds me of the long lost relatives who are no where to be seen when a family member is sick and in need of care, but upon the persons passing find their way 'back'' when they discover there was an insurance policy..

A few decades ago this would not have been possible given the technology at the time. Great to see them coming up. For some it will a difficult time for years to come. Nice to see a good news story. :)

I've got an idea for all mines, everywhere in the world: Make it a requirement that there is always a perpendicular or vertical escape shaft drilled---AHEAD OF TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Praise GOD that they survived!

A good idea in theory; but some of these underground mines are so huge that where do you drill the vertical escape shaft(s)?

Right or wrong, the bottom line still rules.

good to hear a story about miners that have survived.

As far as drilling a vertical escape shafts goes, it probably would not work, too many variables to work in.

:DI agree. unfortunately, I think if it had been less miners and not such a dramatic rescue. the only coverage would have been a quick bit onto he tube.I was abit disappointed when FOX news said a live feed .. And I went to their site and found that I played the 'live' feed. And then opened another box and say the same 'live' feed and it repeated itself.I continued on and found commercials and then it changed the subject. My fault, I assumed a live feed meant they had a cam set up that would just run all the time.
I used to love the ole 12 foot dish. I could see the real news and feds before they were fed.
We got to see what was really happening,The one that was funny was a hurricane and they did almost 9 takes because her hair blew in her face.I mean come on its a 'live' huricane..LOL

The part I liked is when th President took time to thank the USA. The USA built the drill bit that got them out three months early, NASA helped with food and design on the rescue capsule, we had engineers on site etc.

The USA is always first to help and first to be demonized around the word, that I will never understand.

The worst abuse of help from the USA when the Philippians would not let our helicopters land on their soil to help their people during the tsunami. And the best of the best was when we hovered 6 ft. ABOVE the ground to feed these people and a Philippian was grabbing the food from the helicopter crew member and he had a ***** BIN LADEN shirt on. That sort of summed it up.

Bravo to the Chilean President for acknowledging us.
