How many hours did it take you to dig that? It looks like quite a bit of dirt was moved. Is that a home made minihoe as it looks different than the power trac built one and will it handle a 16 inch bucket without too much trouble. Quite impressive.

I am impressed that you could do that in one weekend with a PT180.

I had a total of 16 hours digging time. Its hard to see from the pictures, but when I built the first wall I installed 1/2" rebar tie backs to every second post. The rebar was set at a depth of 2', so I had to use the mini hoe to dig down below the rebar the entire 70'. Then I had to dig out a 20' tree trunk I had buried when I backfilled the orig. wall. Once I got that out of the way I used my LMB and started from the edge of the road and worked my way in taking out each rebar as I went along.
I had a local welder fabricate the mini hoe to my design and specs. last year. I purchased the 9" & 16" buckets from a company in Canada. I also installed bolt on teeth on both buckets, and it really increased the digging power. I used the 16" bucket for most of the digging with no problems at all.

vERY IMPRESSIVE . I think I like the design of your minihoe better than the one power trac sells. How much do you figure you have invested in making it and the buckets?

I figure my total investment including both buckets and the new 3 spool valve is about $1300.00. I am looking into buying a mig welder and taking a welding course, so I can start building my own attachments, Brush grapple etc. I don't think I'll save any money by building attachments myself but at least they will be built to my needs and specs,

$1300? Impressive considering the PT Mini-hoe costs $1100 with the 9" bucket. Basically you bought the new valve and two buckets for just a couple hundred more than it would of cost to buy PTs version and I like your design better. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
