Hey, everybody who comes to our house leaves with coffee! The good stuff, too!

Yup, I've lost 35# since May when I stated Atkins. Thanks for noticing. Dropped from a 40 inch waist to 34 inches, and those are starting to droop now! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

MikePA -- I forgot to identify the dog. That's Tuppence the Wonder Pup, bane of tennis balls.

I'll have to agree with all the above. A good time was had by all. One of the wife's discussions was on how long we spend a day on TBN. The average answer was 20 mins with a high speed hook up. Let's keep up the good work guys!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Can't wait to get together again!!!!!!

Hello All!!

We finally made it home from the very best vacation we've ever had! And the reason it was the best vacation we've had is because is of all the great TBN folks we met along the way.

I can't properly express our appreciation to everyone for taking the time to meet us. But special thanks must go to Bob (Rancar) for making the foggy journey on a Saturday morning just to have breakfast with us, and to Pete (Boondox) for generously offering to host the Vermont TBN Gathering '03!

Bob, it was truly a pleasure to spend our short time with you. In retrospect, we should have told the restaurant that we were going to stay for lunch so that we could just sit and talk the morning away. If anyone has the chance to meet Bob, do not miss it! You'll not find a more gracious, charming, and likable person in a long time. I've had the opportunity to correspond with Bob not only through TBN, but also through some private messages, and I knew even before we met what a terrific guy he is. Our ONLY regret was that Bob's wife Judy was unable to attend. But that just gives us an excuse to meet some time in the future! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif And hopefully not the too distant future! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I did get a couple of pictures of Bob to post, but I'm having trouble getting my memory card from that portion of the trip loaded into the camera so that I can download the pics. I just know that everyone is anxious to see Bob. As soon as I cane get the pics downloaded, I'll post them.

Pete - again, thank you (and Tamara!) for the terrific evening! We had a great group of folks, and as you mentioned, we really covered the variety of topics! And boy, did we EVER blow the diets! Really had some good eats! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I'm anxiously waiting to try the coffee you sent home with everyone, if I can find it in all of the stuff we're still unpacking. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Dave - thanks for the maple syrup. That bottle is being saved for our use only, on special occassions when we decide we can blow the diets again! And next time, we'll make sure to get that round of golf in! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Ed - I met one of those dealers we we're talking about. We were driving through Antique Alley outside of Portsmouth, N.H., and went through Northwood, N.H. Lo and behold, I spot a Massey Feguson and AGCO dealership. On our return trip we pull in so I can get a picture of Jenny on a tractor. A salesman comes out and asks if he can help. I explain that we're just driving by and wanted to get a pic of the wife on a tractor. He says,...Sure, no problem. Can I move one out for you? I say no, but we start chit chatting. I mention TBN, and he says he knows all about it. Says the guys check it out all the time, and the boss really likes it when they're mentioned in posts. He says he has a customer - Tony - who is on TBN all the time! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I about dropped my socks (sort of) and tell him that I'd "talked" with Tony about his new MF. Wally says Tony was just in yesterday. Before we leave, wally comes out with 2 hats for us - and he knew we'd never be coming back!! I've attached a picture of Wally just to prove to Tony that I actually did meet him. I'll have to post this in the MF forum too.

To continue -

Al - it was great telling those sea stories again! It's bad enough when the TBNer's get together, but when 2 of them are old "salts" to boot, it starts to get pretty thick! I never had a chance to mention to the others what the difference is between a fairy tale and a sea story. For those that don't know, a fairy tale starts out...Once upon a time. A sea story starts out....Now this no s _ _ t! There were a few "sea stories" that evening, weren't there Al? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Derek - hope your busy Saturday learning about the new tractor and hauling it all over the place worked out O.K. for you. That was going to be one busy day for you! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Maybe you can post some pictures of the new machine!

Von - I don't want to forget you! Our timing was off, so we didn't get to meet in person. But you have a great looking shop, and it was really cool to see the back yard where you had mowed and posted a picture of the slope that you deal with. Thanks for trying to work it out. It was great talking with you! And good luck on your special procedure that you'll be involved in. I'll be thinking of you! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well, I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone again for such warm welcomes and pleasant company. When Jenny and I travel, as we head home on the last day, we always "review" each day of our trip, and then decide what were our favorite things. We never even got to day 2! we just kept talking about our meeting with Bob, and the evening at Pete's. No question - those 2 events were the highlights of our trip!

And just to make this an official TBN topic, one of my pictures had definite TBN evidence. (see attached).

Thanks again everyone! I'll start a new thread with more info about the trip and more pics (some with tractors!) once I get my camera working again.

Welcome back Garry, it's been a bit hollow around here while you were gone. You've been discussed in a few threads, here's another. Garry

Hey, thanks Jerry!

It's nice to be home - kinda, sorta! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Not looking forward to getting back in to the office tomorrow, but it's gotta be done.

Thanks for the link. I did see it, but just haven't had the chance to reply to Bob in it yet. I've been fussing with my digital camera. After downloading the pictures off of the memory card that was in the camera, I removed it and was going to put in the first card we filled with pictures to download those. But the card won't go all the way in. I think that a pin may have gotten bent the last time the new card was loaded in, which happened to be by a sales person (teen?) in one of the big box stores where we bought another card on our trip. So, I can't use the camera and can't download any other pictures until I get it fixed. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif And I wanted to post a couple pictures of Bob, but they are on the first card that I can't load.

Check out the Massey Ferguson forum. I posted some pics from the dealer that Tony (Tonester) buys from. I stumbled across him while we driving around New Hampshire.

If you ever get a chance to meet any TBNer's, by all means do it! What a great time we all had, and what great friends we've made. It would've been worth going out there just to meet those fine folks.

I'll be posting some other pictures that I did get downloaded with a new thread I'll start in a day or two. We just got back from picking up our daughter-in-law, who will be staying with us for the next two weeks. Our son graduates from Navy boot camp this Friday, so she's out here for that. Then we're having a baby shower for her the following weekend.

The craziness didn't go away while we were gone!! What did I do wrong?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Garry,
I'm thinking someone in your family lives near me, if memory serves me correctly. When you get down this way....holler
