The funny thing about a zebra is that they become stiff as a board in about 15 minutes. As soon as you shoot one, you rush over to it and get it positioned for photo's. Then you get 3 - 4 trackers and get him on his haunches. You back a truck up (or drag it to a clearing where you can get a truck) to the tail end and then all of you push him over backwards onto the tailgate and into the bed. It's actually easier then you would think, because he's stiff. They bring it back to the skinning camp where you have it prepared for taxidermy. The one in my photo will be a rug. The meat is generally used for baiting leopards, they have a sweet tooth for zebra. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Give me a break, surely you're not that niave. Did you stop to think for one minute that I also employed a dozen african natives. That my fee's and tips put clothes on their children and allowed them to have medicine. That the other game I took, fed their families. That the meat used to bait a leopard brought another hunter that provided additional money to a country that's in dire need of foreign currency. The only difference between slaughtering a cow for steaks and taking a trophy is that my harvest provided currency with which they could buy food, instead of providing the actual food itself.

Just to clarify, yes, all of the animals taken fed the natives. Either directly or indirectly.

I would add that while there was only one zebra in the picture, if you visit Africa you will see LOTS of them...

Shooting one there is no more a big deal than shooting a deer here in PA...

I don't have guns and I don't hunt...and I don't promote doing it really...but in the end it is really no big deal...

Keep on hunting and posting pictures. Must have been a great time hunting in Africa. Someday when I have time I'd love to go on a hunting expedition there. Have you ever been up to Alaska hunting? That is also a treat. I went there a couple years ago with my grandfather and will never forget it. I've got two rugs from two bears and a caribou and moose head on my wall from that trip. Some of the most breathtaking scenery you'll ever see.

I'd like to hunt in Alaska someday. I've done some work on the North Slope and had a chance to watch the caribou herds. Everybody needs to experience Alaska, sometime in their life. Someday, I'd like to hunt bear and caribou. I hunted Idaho for elk a few years back, but had no success.
