The broker I worked for in the 80s had an IBM Selectric with a parallel interface to connect to a PC. We used it to print form letters and other correspondence rather than print it on a dot matrix printer, looked more professional. The changeable balls with different typefaces was nice too. It was crazy how fast that ball could print.
