I took the photos right after I let the jack down. At first I too was a bit worried but the tech guy at the craft shop said to go for a spin in the grass and dirt behind the building. When I came back he noticed that the gap between tire and fender increased quite a bit. I'm not sure what made the difference but it definately made a difference.
I didn't take a yard stick to it but I'd say it's a 1/2" to 3/4" now. Also, I had the rear tires loaded before I put them on ($1.75 a gallon and boy are they heavy). Not sure if that's the difference between mine and bp's but I still love the new look none the less.
