Miter saws

   / Miter saws #51
I agree on the point of "limited use tools". Sometimes I need a tool that will only be used for a specific project and can't justify the cost of one that can be used everyday. But for the ones that do get used a lot (I would say table saw, miter saw, jointer, planer, hand drills and routers) I only buy good stuff. Btw, a few on-line outfits specialize in the warranty repairs for the quality brands and I have had very good luck buying from them. I save a few pennies plus they seem to be very good at getting the bugs out before they release them back into the world.

I completely agree! As long as the budget permits.

95% of all my power tools are either Delta, Dewalt, Milwaukee, Makita or Porter Cable, and a couple Hitachi. Air tools are mostly Bostitch or Porter Cable. Most except some cordless drills with old batteries are still in service. They have all been used a lot and owe me nothing. But the few "Cheaper" tools, mostly HF,...well they don't owe me a dime either! Right now I'm cutting some 4' warehouse racking cross-members on the bandsaw and welding them to make some 8 footers. I don't do a lot of metal work but it sure is nice to get nice square and angled cut off the HF saw!
