Well I called and offered $500 for it this morning and hes going to talk it over with the other owner and let me know. If he says yes I will head over there Saturday and check it over good and if its not full of water probably jump on it.

On the center mount deck, what is all involved in making that work? I saw a video on u tube of one on a Mitsu and it looked like it lifted with some links coming off the 3pt hitch.

Were they belt drive or shaft drive to the tractor? Did they run of the front, middle or rear of the tractor as far as the pto location?

Thanks..will keep you guys posted.

Going to look at it one more time tomorrow. They agreed on $500, if there isnt water in the engine or anything scarry when I see it I will likely grab it.

If the tires are 9.5 X 18 be sure that they have life left.
That size is no longer made by Firestone/Bridgstone and you'd need to substitute sizes and if 4 X 4, a proper match is critical.

The 372's they have there had the same tread of rear tires I beleve so mabye I could swap those on assuming the rims are the same and the tires are the same size. I'm hoping they keep those other tractors around for a while so I can gets parts of them if I need.

For what its worth.....the Beaver III tractor and Buck are allegedly the same tractor, except for the engine and rear wheels. The Buck's engine reaches peak power at slightly lower rpm, around 150 less than the Beaver III. Standard rear wheels on the Beaver III are 16", while the Buck has 18". Front wheels (front wheel assist) on both are the same size. I find this interesting, as the overall circumference of the 16" wheels on the Beaver III is less than that of the Buck's 18" wheels. We know that the correct ratio front/rear must be respected with tractors having front wheel assist, with the front wheels slightly pulling the rears when fwa is engaged. Unless the rear differential gearset is different in the Buck, to maintain the proper front/rear gear ratios, wouldn't the larger wheels of the Buck cause a mismatched front/rear gear ratio? Perhaps not because both sizes of rear wheel are within the acceptable front/rear ratio range? Now this is purely speculation, but perhaps a set of rear wheel/tires from a Beaver or Beaver III would serve just fine on the Buck. Again, the assumption is that the Beaver III and Buck are essentially the same tractor, including front and rear differentials, except the Buck's engine has larger bore & longer stroke. This may all be worth 2 cents, but then again......
Vvm

I got the S373D today!

Engine turns over no problem, clutch engages, brakes not stuck.

Front tires are very cracked, but do hold air.

I got a Haban mower deck with a whole pile of brackets, but I think its missing the drive part to the tractor. Anyone have instructions for the haban decks?

Cleaning out the fuel system now, hoping to fire it tonight yet!

I will start a new thread with pictures soon.

That's great. There are numerous threads here on how to prime the fuel system. You can do a search or post back if you have problems.
