As title sez, got this little d1650 with FEL (that works great!) as does the rest of tractor, but 3 point wont work. Decided to ck the hyd filter and it was a pretty big mess, not only clogged but coming apart .... and.... I cant find one ANYWHERE!! All I can come up with are spin on oil type filters.

The pic show its status - its 5 1/2" long and 1 1/2" diameter. That end piece is coming apart also - figure I'll have to 'improvise' on it, but would really like to find a replacement

! That screen is really fine mesh brass an its just crumbling. If I could find something similar, I could wrap it around myself, but no idea on a suitable .... mesh. Just really would like to find a replacement....

Anybody???

Perhaps a 'last ditch' fix but that filter screen is brass.
You could always solder a 'patch' over the missing area.

My CUT has been running for 8-10 years with that same 'fix'.
A 'patch' will simply reduce the working area by a small amount but still do its job.

Your suggestion is exactly what I'm thinking. Prowled around on McMaster this morning and of course they had about a dozen types of mesh, in fact so many I couldnt figure out just what they did! Finally settled on a stainless piece 12/12" and got it coming. Now to figure the end piece, my first thought is to get an O ring about that size....

I did contact Valley and the guy (really friendly!) said that they may have one but if not they could re-wrap mine. By this time I had been prowling the web for mesh and - Of course! - Mcmaster Carr had several grades of mesh and I had chosen one - guessed at one! - a 12x12" stainless steel. So I put the guy off at Valley, but certainly added his web site to my list....

Well it came in a couple days ago and with some fiddling/cussing I made up a rather nice filter. Cut it to size and put a couple tie wraps on for a starter, this allowed me to work the end 'caps' on, then using small safety wire and started snugging it up - tied it at 6 points and removed the tie wraps ---- and wow! Looked great!

Installed it and every thing works great! Thanks guys, Bill
