Bought a D1800 at an auction and 3pt wouldn't work. Cleaned filter, replaced oil and changed pump now it lifts as soon as you start cranking and seems to lift too high with arms hitting the seat. Will not lower unless I unscrew the valve under the seat until oil starts flowing. I've played around with the lock valve lever and it's no help. I'm thinking I have a bad lock valve. Horrible squeal and gets worse as the tractor keeps running but I can't tell where it's coming from.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Just a thought, my Satoh 470 three point lift control has a neutral position to leave the handle in when you have the lift where you want it. If your tractor is like mine and doesn't have the correct linkage to return the handle to neutral and you leave the handle in the up mode, it will make the relief valve squeal.

Thanks for the reply. My linkage feels like it's broken, no resistance at all at the lever. Do you think if it's broken in the up position, this would cause the 3pt to lift and the squeal?

Thanks!

If it works the same as mine, yes. Does it feel like it has a neutral position? My Mits. D1450FD does not have a neutral position. Where ever you leave it determines where the lift is.

Thanks, It doesn't feel like it has a neutral position. I think the problem is the linkage is broken, I'll have to dig into it and see what's up. Thanks again.
