Hi
Im hoping the hydraulics experts out there can help me please.
I have a Mitsubishi MT180HMD mini tractor with front end loader. I bought it about a year ago and since its parked for winter down here in the southern hemisphere this issue slipped my mind. Ill be using it again soon so I thought I had better drop a note on the forum.
My main problem is a noisy hydraulics system. The noise is a whine.
When tractor first starts, whining noise can be heard from hydraulic reservoir area (ie. transmission). Vibration can be felt on the hydraulic pipes under seat (not sure if its suction or pressure pipe). Once it is warmed up, the whining tends to go away until it comes under load from a hill. Whining noise changes pitch on steepish climb. Whining noise does not seem to be aggravated by operation of 3PL or front end loader.
HST oil level is correct and is about 100 hrs old (previous owner did last oil change and filters).
When using the front end loader - it is slow raising but fast lowering. When tipping the bucket it starts off at good speed then half way it stops. A few seconds later it will continue to tip but extremely slow initially then speeds up until full tip angle of bucket reached. Its really annoying as it lengthens the working time considerably.
I must admit, I am a little disappointed in it's 4x4 capability. I expected a little more grunt on the front axle and a sense of pulling power when going up a hill for instance. Similar to when you engage 4x4 on an off road SUV.
Total hours on the tractor is 1500. I have log books and it seems to have been regularly maintained.
All the above may be related to a single problem or separate. I just don't know.
Appreciate any learned opinion on the hydraulics please.
Cheers
Edit: Forgot to add. When going up a hill HST power decreases as whine increases
