OK, thanks for the information.
I now see you are Aussie....so there is that between us.

I'm guessing my Tractor Supply or NAPA Auto Parts store will have the hydraulic oil. Anything special about that to get?
Guessing it will be a big mess to drain it all. I have a 60" belly mower deck on mine. Might have to take that off, again.

I see a square drain plug under the machine,,,but looks like it is under the actual pump, not the sump. Will have to investigate further.

Thanks

For the headlight bulbs you need to go to a motorcycle supplier and even them the closest bulb will need to have a notch filed in order to fit properly.

As to the oil suction feed, careful cleaning with an old toothbrush works. Mine had a tear in it and some solder and a soldering iron cured that.(screen is brass, so solder works)
Ok a small % lost but better 98% than none!

The oil should be readily available. Commonly branded as agricultural or all purpose tractor.
ITs a big mess if you don't have a collection method. I use a shallow purpose designed oil container. There are 2 square plugs. One in the centre of sump and one on the inside left of differential housing about a foot away from the central plug. Fiddle around. YOu will find them. Yes, the mower deck will probably be in the way.

So: Pulled the deck off (I'm getting better at jacking the nose way up so deck can slide out).
Drained the oil, cleaned the screen (was pretty clean already), replaced the big Wixx filter and filled with three gallons of hydraulic oil.
Still whines a bit at low rpm and a bit of load. Doesn't (and didn't) whine bad when 1500+ rpms and load.

Seems it was transmission oil in there. At least looked (red) and smelled like it. I put proper hydro oil in.
Old oil was in good shape.

So, feel better that I did that....so I know.
Now just to take radiator out and get it properly cleaned so doesn't keep over heating.

Thanks for the help here.

Coo

Hi, very interested reading your comments. I bought one with very low hours last year and although it doesn't make noise, it's very jerky on the movement. It's either go or stop - no speed control. There is an oil leak so it could just be low.
Does anyone have a diagram showing where the filters are for the hydro drive? And does it have a dipstick or fill line?

Cheers
