RaydaKub.............try that link that EricK posted in #3. There is a picture of the fix with a washer sitting on top of the cam. The part that you call the "finger" was worn as well on mine. But the washer fix seemed to cure the problem. For sure if you took that all apart to weld, that would be a big job in my mind. Yet, I haven't put my MMM to work that much since the "fix". We'll be soon to find out however.

Interesting. Why does that work? Maybe it doesn't rock side to side as much? It's certainly worth trying before I dismantle the tractor.
My mower has been abused a fair amount prior to my purchase of it. The right front scalp wheel has been hit hard enough to bend the front mower flange in toward the blade. Also the angle iron where the limit control sits was broken right off the frame. I had that welded back on the first summer I owned it, but it has gotten worse again. I put a hydraulic jack in the mower deck to stretch it out again, but was only about 50% successful.
