MMM Removal

I don't have any shackles...mine is a Kubota MMM too.

There are only three points on mine that connect the
MMM to the tractor - the front bar/latch, and the
two points on either side of the deck that hook up
to the 3pt mechanism (I'm excluding the PTO connection,
because that is not a support connection).

If the shackles you're talking about are the 3pt "hooks"
that the spring loaded pins are in, they should lift right
up after you pull the pins back. Since you haven't removed
the mower much, it may be that there was debris in the
spring or lever and that just made it hard to do.

I purchased mine in 2/2001; I'm not sure when it was actually
manufactured. It may be that yours is a little older and that
the design may be slightly different?

Just wondering...
While I admit it never occured to me that it could pop loose, it does feel pretty positive to me when I lock it in. Is there some ambiguity on yours or perhaps you just didn't check because it didn't occur to you. I feel confident in the attachment but I'm glad I had the opportunity to check it. Sorry to hear about yours.

SNOWMAN rules (has to be the name). At the dealer today I took 2 long hard looks at a B7500 w/60" MMM that was getting ready for delivery and by golly those shackles I "thought" came off can stay on. I guess I see things differently when I'm clueless upon what I'm doing. Thanks for the help.

I have a 60 in. MMM for a b7100HST. I just drive on to the mower and drive off forward for removal. Wooden blocks help to get the tires up on the deck. Without power steering leaving the FEL on gets pretty hard on the elbows and shoulders. These were the instructions as I could decipher them from the manual.

I'm really confused. You drive on the MMM? huh?

Yes I do and also drive off of it. Been doing this for years. Can do with or without the loader mounted. Works well.

It don't hurt the deck?

There is a discussion about driving over the MMM decks somewhere else on these forums.

Somebody pointed out that the B2710/2910 (?) instructions tell you that that is the method
for putting the decks on and off.

However, for the B7500, they (Kubota) doesn't say to do that; the manual explains how to
manipulate the front wheels of the tractor to slide the deck in and out. I don't know how
you would do it if you don't have the FEL, which you need to raise the tractor up. I suppose
it can be done, but it would take alot of manuvernig and alot of time.

Apparently the deck for the B7500 MMM is made with steel that is not as strong as the
B2710/2910 deck

Following info. from Kubota literature dated 1990...
RC60-71B mid-mount mower."This mower is also easy to mount, the operator can simply drive over the deck and secure it with levers and locks"
I'd recommend checking your particular deck to see that it is designed and built for this before doing so/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
