Yes. TSC around here markets two. The Yellow One being the larger, and an XB model for the subcuts. These are made by KK or Tarter Gate and they are what they are. For my soil? Perfect!!! For a tool one only uses a few times a year, why pay more.

I bought the bigger yellow one at a farm sale a couple of years ago and use it to go through areas with lots of small tree roots.

A friend has an organic vegetable farm and uses it to prepare the ground for planting. He also uses it for digging potatoes.

It seems to hold up really well in our soil. How deep do you plan to plant your asparagus?Just thinking you might have problems going deep enough.

I might expect the Yellow model to trench down a full 12" in reasonable soil. Is that deep enough for your purpose? How deep have you been told to plow for planting asparagus? I have trenched down a full 10" with the XB model.

Great tool for the gardener who doesn't have access to conventional turning furrow plow. A middlebuster isn't as "neat" but it does a good job of plowing for a fraction the price.

about 8" is right for asparagus. i have a turning plow but i don't want my trench to be that wide. i should also have a lot of potatoes to dig anyway later on in the year.
