Please! Mobil #1 user responses only.

1) In how many oil changes have you used Mobil #1 in your tractor?
2) Do you consider Mobil #1 the best oil to use in your tractor?
3) What return do you expect for paying the higher price for synthetic oil?
4)On what oil change (hour meter) did you start using Mobile #1 in your tractor?

I have a B2700 ready for 100 hour oil change. I used 10W30 at 50 hours. I'm trying to decide what to use from now on.

Thanks for your help.

Ed...

I always used Mobil1 in my vehicles, but have never used it in any of my tractors. I currently drive a Dodge 2500 with Cummins diesel and use only Rotella. Rotella is engineered strictly for diesel engines and is a product of Shell Oil Company. It's a bit more expensive than other oils, but is somewhat less expensive than synthetic. I plan to use Rotella in my new L2600 as well.

Ed,
I use Mobil 1, 15W-50 in my MF 1250 (32 HP). It has over 700 hours on it and I bought it new in Sept. 99. I use Mobil 1 because I work my tractor hard and I want that extra amount of protection. Plus, you never know how long that I may keep it.
This winter the motor started easier at even-colder temperatures than it did the winter before. If it will start easier then it must be better on the engine!!!
I started putting it in at 150 hours.

You may refer to an earlier thread on this subject started by myself and worded the same nearly as yours and see the results I got.
I use Mobil 1 in my BX, after the initial breakin change. I plan to continue using it as I like only having to keep one type of oil around.
Mobil 1, best dang oil in the universe! or something like that. J

Ed, I changed to Mobil 1 at the 50 hour first oil change. Then I found that really Delvac 1 is the more appropriate oil for our little diesel tractors. It was developed for and meets a stricter set of requirements than does Mobil 1. Delvac 1 was designed around diesel applications.
I have used Mobil 1 for about 10 years in three different vehicles. I have found it to keep the inside of the engine cleaner than conventional motor oils. That is the only benefit I can acutally prove because the naysayers and doubters abound and will for sure vent their distrust of everything synthetic.
To be honest some have had great success with conv. oil so who am I to argue with some like Bird, they have more actual years experience with engines than I have years having been alive.
It really boils down to how much we believe of the hype and how good it makes us feel. Hopefully we gain something in the midst of much higher oil prices.
My 2 cents

I have been using Mobil Delvac 1 in my Kubota diesel engines, however, I plan to switch to AMSOIL after this case of Delvac 1 is gone. I believe both are good oil and you can't go wrong with either. However, I would prefer the Delvac 1 over Mobil 1. The Mobil Delvac is specifically designed for diesel engines.
