Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40

I run Mobil 1 oils in everything I own. Even the lawn mower. I have a Kioti DK45S and was thinking of switching over to Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 at the next oil change. Does anyone else using this oil and have reports to offer. I'm sure it will be better on cold day starts than 15W-40.

I use it in my 6.0 psd and really like it. It's a bit pricey but it really quiets the engine and in cold New England mornings I'm glad I use it.

I have used Turbo Diesel Truck for a while and really like it. It is the same oil as Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40. The only thing different is the label.

I have used it from my first oil change. I also use Chevron Synthetic All-Weather THF for hydro fluid (HST)

The combination of the Mobil 1 and Chevron has really helped cold morning starts. -11F without a block heater, sitting out on the snow, and it starts up and evens out in about 10 seconds.

This is what I used my last oil change on my tractor. Hope Walmart keeps stocking it so I can use it next oil change on the 1983 Benz diesel. Used it a couple years ago in the Benz. Blended 15w50 and 5w30 last time in the Benz for its change because couldn't find any Mobil 1 5w40 but found the 5w40 just after.

Get the lowest xxw number you can get. On all but the Benz, I generally use 5w30. Just happened to have a couple quarts of the 5w40 left when I changed the tractor's oil last time; so, I used the 5w40.

5w will still be heavier at startup than 40w is at operating temperature, even in the summer.

Jerry, I think your wrong about the Turbo Diesel being the same as the Delvac. The Delvac is a blend of syn and conventional. The Turbo
diesel truck is 100% syn.

Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40 is a fully synthetic supreme performance heavy duty diesel engine oil that helps extend engine life while providing long drain capability and fuel economy for modern diesel engines operating in severe applications.
If you will pull up both spec sheets below, they are the same also. When Truck and SUV first came out, it was the same as Mobil Delvac 1. Then Mobil changed the formula for T & SUV and added the new label Turbo Diesel Truck. It's like they are trying to keep us confused.

If your oil of choice EXCEEDS the requirements for your tractor...use it!
I went with Rotella SYN 5W-40 for my Kubota

Jerry, Delvac is also availble in non synthetic. Thats what is stocked around this area. Delvac one does appear to be full syn. I haven't seen the syn version of Delvac before. Good to know.
