Mobil Delvac 5W-40

My truck, 2004 Silverado, has an hourmeter read out in the dashboard information center. It's showing 3,445 hours and I currently have a little over 120,000 miles on it.

All three of my trucks have hour meters from the factory. 2 Fords, a 04 Powerstroke F-250 and a 06 Powerstroke F-350, and my 08 Nissan Titan. All can be found on in the info center where it tells the tire pressure, ect. I have about a 35 mph average.

As for simi-synthetic its a waste of money. If it has 1% synthetic its semi. I run Valvoline 5W30 Synthetic in the Titan and 5W40 Rotella synthetic in the diesel trucks.

Just bought a 5 gallon bucket of JD 0Wx40 for $140. OUCH that hurt. Noticed that Shell 5Wx40 was only a few dollars cheaper per gallon.

5 gallon for $140 = $28 per gallon. Wow, a bit pricey...

Around here Rotella T6 is $19 per gallon = $95 for 5 gallons... as much synthetic as I use the Shell is a lot better in price...

I installed the hour meter. Pretty simple. Unless you do this and keep track, you are just guessing. 62000 miles and 2000 hours, averages 31 mph. My driving is 30% highway, 30% suburban, 20% city, 10% idleing, just a guess. Think about it, speed limit is 45 mph, every stop sign brings you down to 0 mph, drive thru, atm, stop light, etc. Your true average speed is probably less than you think. I have hour meters in addition to odometers in all our on road vehicles. This study has been going on for quite some time. Yes, I am ****. Philip.

I think my guess would be pretty close at least for the recent time period. My wifes car since i put the battery in over a year ago she averages about 25 mph. She dives way more in town than i do i drive between 35-65 mph mostly 60 mph on my way to and from work which is a 25 mile trip. My only stop is at work and if i get stopped at the light. So i think if my wife who drives a shorted distance and does the shopping at the store and goest to eat in town etc, if hers avges 25 give or take that i should be near your 30mph avg.

Shell 5w-40 was $25 a gallon at the local auto parts store so the cost differential was not much.

Both are expensive. Course the 15w-40 oil was no exactly cheap either. :D It was just less money compared to the 5w-40 or 0w-40. I will not say cheaper. :D
