Mobil One oil filters

What did you pay for the Mobil 1 filters in your area? Need some type of reference point to see if we "can buy them cheaper" somewhere else.

Maker102,
My intention was not to hijack your thread into something different than what you intended but to point out that I believe the Mobil 1 filters are overpriced for what they are. That thought kind of got lost as I was typing. Sorry about that! I believe that I paid $9.97 (at Kmart) for one Mobil 1 filter and regularly buy the filters I am using now for a little over $5 (at Advanced Auto Parts). I don't recall seeing the Mobil 1 filters on mail order anywhere and can't remember any stores other than Kmart that carry them.

What you need to find out is; is who makes Mobil 1 filters? It is like Amsoil's filters are made by Baldwin.

Mobil 1 filters are really good.

I imagine they are pretty much the same price everywhere. That is the way Mobil 1 is with the exception of Wal-Mart. Outside of that place its $5/qt everywhere.

Cheapest place I can find the Mobil 1 filter in our area is at Auto Zone and they are $11.95 ea. I did run across a bargain on Mobil 1 oil at Sam's Club in Peoria a while back, 6qt pack and it figured roughly to $3.78 a qt! Needless to say I stocked up. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey B2400 I have to go to Peoria next Tuesday so I will check out the Sams Club there. Thanks for the tip on the cheap oil sure hope they still carry it. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Lazy: that is only one of several sites that I looked at. I know that you can put anything on the internet but having looked at the filters I will spend the extra few bucks over the life of a $50,000 handicapped van. Thanks for the post maybe somebody else that stops by will also benefit from it. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hey gsxr1100 that is the question of the month I think. From everything that I have read they are made to their own specifications, however this is just a guess. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Kensfm: I paid $11.95 each for them and cannot find them any cheaper on the internet. I got mine from Autozone. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I did also go to the super K-Mart without any success. All they carry is Fram in this neck of the woods /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

K&N for my Ford diesel truck is cheaper then Fram or Penzoil filters. It's a big filter. Cost is about $8. The selection of K&N is a bit limited.

I read somewhere that Super Tech (Walmart) oil filters were made by Champion. Champion also makes filters for Mobil 1. The Super Tech was as good as any OEM filter. Top rated were Mobil 1 and two or three others that are priced about tha same, around $10. I'll try to find that site and pass it along.

Look up oil filter tests. The Mobile One filter rates right up there with the Fleetguard filters. I use them and have not found any place with good deals on them. I think Auto Zone is about the chepest I have found at $13.00. Remember, you get what you pay for.
