Mod question for BETSTCO FH-AGL-145 flail mower...(flow restrictor? PTO extension?)

You are operating your tractor/mule and the flail shredder just fine.

The amount of heat generated by the movement of fluid flow to control
the main boom and the flail shredder mowers angle is minor and will
not affect the oil in your system.
Water entering the hydraulic system is a much greater concern as it will
cause corrosion and damage the hydraulic oil.

Dealing with dirt is a much greater concern to you when uncoupling
the hydraulic hoses to the mule/tractor when you are done with
mowing chores.

If you use alcohol and good hand cleaner without pumice to clean the caps
and plugs and the mating surfaces of the hydraulic quick couplers with good
lint free cotton towels you will prolong the life of your hydraulic system.

It's all the better if you can put the caps and plugs in good zip lock bags
and seal them using a rubber band rather than just letting them bounce
around while you are using the flail shredder.

After further testing, I reduced them a bit more. The above sizes, 0.062" (1/16") on ext/con & 0.045" (3/64") for tilt, were still rather fast. Controllable indeed if one is careful and better than stock, but faster than I preferred.

So, I got another 0.031" (1/32") and tried it on the tilt. It was much better. So then I took the 0.045" (3/64") and moved it to the extension/contraction piston and it too was better. The 0.031" (1/32") was only too slow for extension contraction. The tilt feature however is much more sensitive I guess due to the angle of the piston.

So, in closing after more testing...
For extension/contraction: 0.045" (or 3/63")
and for the tilt: 0.031" (or 1/32")
