That looks like an excellent application for down pressure. Just a tad of down pressure would help get that last bit of packed snow, ice or slush off the road or parking lot. It's interesting to me that so much technology is developed overseas.

Another video showing the down pressure in use.

Can even be done with a Dodge.

Why this is used is to reduce the weight, before you loaded your ice blade with weights or used a real grader but those are expensive and not as versatile as a tractor, here in Norway a lot of farmers earns good money on winter road maintenance, and for those that thinks it must be a slow way of doing it, most tracktors goes in 50 km/h or even faster.

Some Zetors and Ursus ( and probably others ) have factory down pressure on the 3 point hitch, it will just lift the rear wheels of the ground if you put blocks under the arms.

I use my Kubota 3 point hitch ( no down pressure) to tow trailers, because it is so easy to hook up. The downside is however if I load on the back of the trailer, or if I back up pushing the trailer against a bump, the 3 point hitch lifts up and the top link smashes the cab of the tractor.

I wish I had down pressure!

Bert.
