I have access to a 7.5" Fisher Snow Plow with working hydraulics ( right/ left angles) for around $300
I was thinking of finding a used plow and modifying it to either fit in place of the FEL bucket or into the bucket.

If I replace the bucket, I can use the tilt up/down to power the right /left angle.

Wondering if its just too big for my sub compact though?

Perhaps I'd be better off picking up a scraper blade for the 3 Point Hitch instead.
Almost the same cost...what do you guys think and is 6' still too big for my CS2410?

You don't say what HP your tractor is.
My tractor is 20 HP+/- and I use a 72" blade with no problems but I am chained and carry a 60" blower on the back.
I use the plow for the lighter snow events ( like 4" or less) as blowing is much slower.
With a CUT you will find that you can only push straight ahead and not angling snow off to the side due to the lighter weight of the tractor.

ah, the details on the tractor were on the left. I have a SCUT. 24.5hp.

I think I'm leaning more towards saving the money and just putting a rear blade on it which I can then use to plow, while maintaining my loader function and also use it for grading.

Thoughts?

I have a tractor the size of yours, a Kubota BX. I use a 5' blade. I thinkworks good for year round use with the tractor. If if don't get a lot of snow or have a bunch to move a rear blade may be the best way to go.

A 7.5' fisher plow would be to big and heavy for your tractor for a FEL blade. The closer you keep the blade to the tractor the better it will work. You could cut the plow down to 5' for your tractor. Do you know what model it is and how heavy it is? If the plow how the pump I mount it to the frame of the tractor.

Even though you have a SCUT it is still a very capable machine. I can move 20'' + with the BX. and a rear blade.

It's $300 just for the A frame and Blade. Not sure about the pump, but I believe Fisher always put those in the engine compartment.
But I could spend that same $300 for a real nice 5' rear blade...I think that's what I will do

I have a Western truck plow on my skid loader, and it's MUCH better than the rear blade on my tractor. I'd recommend buying it for that price. You can probably cut a foot or two off without issue if you find it's too big.

7.5' is going to be a lot for that tractor when there's a lot of snow, but for normal snow events it will be fine. I have a 6.5' on my 5500lb skid loader and big piles will push it around. Chains on the front tires are going to be a must.

If it's an older Speedcast style, it will weigh close to 400 or so. That's what I used on my DS3510, which handles it fine but might be too much for your tractor.

If you do get it, that is the best style for FEL plows in my opinion, but if you look this summer you will find better deals. I got my A frame and blade for 75 bucks on NH Craigslist. They are very easy to mount and easy to cut down.

I went to grab a pic of it and the ad it gone...I'll keep looking then. Another option I was thinking about would be to make a 3pt hitch mount for the loader and use the rear blade up there.
Is that an option that is good or bad? I don't have a lot of room to store too many attachments.

I don't like that option. One of the really nice things about a truck plow is it trips. When you plow, you get going pretty quick, I have a bunch of trips that would otherwise beat the **** out of the loader frame. And since many are towards the end of a 6.5' blade, it could otherwise put a ton of torque on the loader.

I'd stick with a truck plow. I never use my back blade anymore unless the plow AND snow bucket were both broke. Box blade gets a ton of use though for dirt.

No, as said above you NEED that trip, my Fisher has tripped quite a few times saving the arms. Plus the Speedcast truck plow blade is just SOO easy to mount on a SSQD plate (do the little Kiotis come with that?). It's especially easy if you can get the pushbar from the truck side.
Good thing is not many people run the Speedcasts anymore, so they can go for real cheap on Craigslist, especially on the off season.

Now sure what a SSQD plate is and when I googled it, nothing tractor related came up.

This is the only pic I have of the plow. I put the red circles on there.

PS...$75 for a plow? That is awesome. I just sold an old Craftsman 42" plow for $75.00 :D

Skid steer quick attach plate, it's a style of quick attach for FELs.

That is a Fisher Speedcast, and is what you want. Hold out for a better price though, those blades go for 150ish all day on CL...my 75 was a lucky mid Summer score. There are a ton of those blades still out there, just gotta find someone who just wants to get rid of one.

If you can, get a pushbar with it, but they are easy enough to fab up if you can't. The pushbar is the part where your red circled ends connects to. It spans the front truck frame rails. Be careful though, fisher made different widths and you gotta match it up to the A frame width

Paid 150$ for my Meyers plow and love it. Rebuilt the cylinders and reworked it to work on my loader control. Just plain easy. I don't use a loader since I don't have one but I've used my neighbors and like moving snow with the plow.

Thanks, the floor was free. It was plywood underneath and took a beating so it needed an update. It' has to be redone since the glue was Eco friendly and not so sticky as the good old glue.

A fisher plow is much heavier then a meyers plow. I put a meyers on my BX and I am still thinking I may need to trim 6 inches off each side to trim weight. My father hooked up his fisher plow on the back of his 3 pt and used that to plow with. He prefers to have a bucket available all the time, and I prefer to have plow on FEL arms to push snow up a bank. I wish I had better pics of fisher plow mounted but its all i have.

I have 7.5 Meyers attached to a quick attach plate on my Kioti CK30. I also use the hydraulics for my 4 in 1 bucket to angle the plow. Works Great!. I put the plow on in October, and only change back to the bucket when I have to reduce the large snow banks near my dogs' pen.

The CK 30 handles the wirght just fine.

Where you at VTFireftr? I'm in Southern VT too.

Your CK30 is considerably larger and heavier than my lil guy.
I've had many Fisher Plows like this in the past and I remember they were quite heavy.
My lil CS only has a 675lb bucket lift capacity. I believe the blade weight on a 7.5' Fisher is 715lbs and I'd still need to add the A Frame.

No, my Fisher 7.5" is close to 350 or so, total probably about 450 with A frame....but that's way to close to max to hang off the front of your FEL arms...even on my DS3510 you can tell it's there!
