Modifying forklift hydraulic forks to Trima/SMS QA for my L5030

Got the forks from a scrapped forklift for a decent price. Have to cut off old mounts, mill them straight, move them and weld on the Trima hooks to fit my loader. Lots of cutting done, getting ready to start welding instead...

Welded the hooks to the re-used supports and welded those in their new position to fit the Trima QA.



Primed and painted the exposed metal today and hooked frame up to tractor. Put forks on and got the cylinders back in place. Hydraulic hoses and more pictures planned for tomorrow!

Temporary plumbing to test them, using the front plow hydraulic outlets. Will tidy up and adapt to QDs that will be mounted on the FEL cross member once that project is done. But they work (!) and the cylinders seem to be leak free despite some nicks in them...

Doesn't that all but reduce your loader capacity to useless? The forklift I have here the forks are super heavy, and it doesn't even have sideshift.
