Now here comes the toughest quetion

Is it easier to pull the pipe in or fold it in with the device you listed.

I dont know I dont have one yet the one I had in mind originally had a hinged chute this one at Agrisupply is a solid tube? ( I will find the one and post it eventually... :) ) I have ran vibratory plows behind Ditch Witch trenchers though and you have to have something at the start to keep it in place.

What that is will depend my guess is yes that would be the simplest IMHO but time will tell.

Here is possibly the one I had in mind earlier I didnt bookmark the site etc when I was searching last spring for one it is a lot more money but more uses.

I have only puled the pipe with the bullet adapter, but I like the fold over idea, and seems to do it well with any size pipe. The adapter looks like a flat piece of steel with two large holes cut into it

I have three kinds of trenchers. The 12 in wheeled trencher, the vibrator cable/pipe puller, and the subsoil shank version. Then there is always the shovel, not.

The vibrator unit is less work.

I also have an extra vibrator head I am thinking about converting to a post driver, or setting well points. Some guy close to me had about 10 of the Davis cable layers that he was parting out, and I got some parts from him.

It would be interesting to see how well that vibrator works as a post driver.

I would think if you are burying cable, you don't want to pull it in because of the potential for skinning it. A radius bend in a pipe attached to the shank that you can feed the wire down and LAY the wire VS PULL the wire is what I would do.

Pipe, on the other hand, I would PULL rather than LAY. And stiff pipe has to be laid because it can't bend much anyway.

pretty easy to bend some conduit and attach it to the shank to feed your wire through.
