Mold on House....

Hi Scotty,

For mold I like to use Shock or Pool Chlorine. It's highly concentrated compared to household bleach and realy does a number on mold. I just pour it strait into a hand held squrit bottle and start spraying. In a day it's either gone, or dead.

Scotty,
I have to do my house and garage siding (both metal and vinyl) and front and rear decks every year for the same reason. Have lots of shade trees and heavy dew overnight. Seems to promote mold growth. I use 1 to 1-1/2 quarts bleach per 4 gal water in a 5 gal bucket a brush and a sponge. Usually sponge some on first and let it sit a min. or so then brush it then hose with clean water. Make sure to wear gloves and old clothes. (don't ask how I know)

Mornin George,
Yep, I pretty much ended up doing just that. About a 1 to 4 mix ratio and a soft bristled pole brush. It worked quite well. Im using a Woodsman solid color stain with a mold inhibitor, whatever that means /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Barn Red of course /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Thanks for your help!

Mornin Scott,

Why don't you just turn the house around every so often to avoid the mold buildup. Sorry, I couldn't help it, it's early and I'm feeling pretty darn good on 6-6-6. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
