Montana 3840 Smell Clutch Burning

Is there an adjustment I can make to help save the clutch on my Montana 3840. Was turn plowing my garden yesterday when I started smelling the clutch burning. What is causing this? Tractor only has 704 hours on it. This is a geared tractor.

I believe that it is the twin to my Farmtrac 360 and if so there is a clutch adjustment bolt/ threaded rod on the underside of your tractor attached to the clutch linkage, I have had to adjust mine several times over the years.
