"people like you..."

What exactly is people like me? Am I somehow inferior because I don't own a JD? I looked at your profile and saw that you own several JD's so you are a big JD fan. No one here goes into the JD section and tries to stir up trouble. This is the section to talk about Montanas.

I went to look at a JD tractor that my local dealer had a special on last year before I bought my Montana. I don't remember the model, but it was an open cab, 2WD, FEL, etc. It also included a brush hog for about $17K. The dealer told me it was made in India. He told me that most of the JD (and most other brands) are now made overseas.

First of all I didn't come in and try to stir up trouble. I posted on what I read in a couple different farm magazines about montana. Just the facts nothing more as they were reported in the article. I didn't put my personal opinion on it at all.

YOU are the one that badgered me about buying a Montana and told me how JD's were all made overseas which is completely false. Some of them yes. The 03 series that you mention is made exclusively for India. They sell 20 to 1 in India compared to here of the 03 series. You tell me where the smart decision to put the plant is??

If Montana sold 20 to 1 in Korea as here I wouldn't have a problem at all with them making them in Korea. Fact is this is the only country the Montana brand is currently being sold. I may be wrong on that stat and if they are sold worldwide then I apologize in advance.

Lastly I asked the dealer here, closest on is 150 miles away, about service. He told me the only way I would get service is to bring the tractor back to him. He quoted me 100% of retail price and wouldn't come down a dime. The Deere was 23% off of list and 7 days a week one phone call will have a mechanic to my house within the hour.

I believe the 3000 and 4000 series are only "assembled" in the USA. The are primarily built elsewhere.

As for Montana selling 20 to 1 in Korea, the Montana brand is only here in the USA. It started out, and still mainly consists of, LG, now called LS, tractors, which are sold around the world in larger numbers than are currently sold in the USA under the Montana name.
