I just had the chance to spend 2 hours on a Montana R4944HST with 14.5 hours. Nice tractor. Smooth and quiet. Plenty of power. I did (at the owner’s request) vary the engine speed from idle to 2200 RPM. While using a Bush Hog Rotary Cutter (M286, 900#) I varied the engine speed from 1900-2200. This tractor never missed a beat. Ran in 2WD except for a few wet spots, when I gently went into 4WD. Rear tires are loaded. Running R4's. Great traction.
Very maneuverable. And that HST as smooth as butter! The Montana is a very nice machine. You Montana owners have a great tractor.
