sounds like a farm trac model #, so it probably came from a montana dealer.

Does anyone know if Montana dealers are getting parts, direct from Montana, for the Escort Montana limited tractors?

Montana is still supplying parts for the tractors. The problem as explained by an ex Farmtrac dealer is that Montana has never been able to get new parts.
Parts on back order remains on backorder. They have stopped giving any timelines for new parts availability.

Montana dealer in NC. No loader. That would run about $4000.00 more

I was at the Louisville Show also and didn't see Montana either. They were listed on the show guide I downloaded. I did see Branson and LS also.

I wrote Montana on Friday, January 22, 2010 and asked the following "Are you still going to be importing Montana 545 and 555 series tractors or are you just selling remaining stock?"

Montana's reply came on January 25th "We have available inventory of Montana 545 and 555 series tractors. As of now, we are selling the remaining stock of the Escort line, although Montana does have a parts agreement with Escorts so parts and availability of parts should not be a problem."

As for me I miss the old Ford Model 4000's and Farmtrak and now Montana were my last hope of getting one (essentially the same) in pristine shape. The Ford 4000 is kind'a like the old 55 Chevy, automobile manufacturing reached the pinnacle of perfection with that model year, there was no reason to make any new model of automobiles after that (same way with the old Ford 4000's).

According to Montana site it says they still have a supplier agreement with Branson:

February 3, 2010

SPRINGDALE, ARKANSAS Montana Tractors and DK Steel (parent company of Kukje Machinery Co., LTD and Branson Tractors, LLC) have suspended their joint venture conversations citing the current economic conditions. They will both continue in the US market independently of each other. Montana Tractors still has a supplier agreement signed with Branson Tractors, USA.

Interesting that things from Montana tractors say springdale arkansas. I was in springdale last tuesday and drove by the montana tractor area. It is totally empty. The buildings are still there but If I remember correctly even the signs are gone.

I wouldn't count Montana out so quickly. I have had very good parts support for the green LS units, the blue Farmtrac's, and even for the red Special Editions. Let's hope that a deal works out with a new supplier and we can go back to business as usual. Right now, there are some great deals to be had on very reliable tractors. Montana is a great company, too bad there's no more sweet bailout cash flowing! Good luck Montana.
