I’ve been meaning to do this for years but I’m going to finally break down and do it.
I want to make a list of things to inspect and take care of on a monthly basis, regardless of season. (Thanks for your responses on the "getting ready for winter" thread).
I was going to put on my calendar for the first day of the month and try to finish by/on the first weekend of the month.
Does anyone have a list of things to do or check on a scheduled basis?
Since some of you haven’t been to my place, it may be hard to do my list but if you don’t mind, I’d like to borrow from yours.
Here’s what I had come up with (so far) for monthly.
Charge all batteries (not on cars, but most everything else)
Check/fill water conditioner salt.
Check propane level (grill tank in summer, heater tank in winter)
Check around house/buildings for visitors (insects, mice, moles, snakes…) and handle accordingly.
Do a full walkthrough of all infrequently used areas (basement areas, storage and outbuildings) checking for anything wrong.
Check fluid levels in all machines, including cars.
Check/clean all exterior grates, drain pipes…
Visually inspect all tires for inflation. (too many to put a gauge on all but will if it looks low).
Every 2 months
Start and run generators
