I recall a thread about carrying logging chain, and I just finished a small mod so I could carry some chain. One side is for short chains, the other side with the bin carries some 20' lengths. The extra weight is a benefit.

Nice work. Very handy. :)

I prefer my chain storage on the tractor. Then I have it whether I'm carrying a rear ballast box or not.

Thanks guys. FYI; at least with my modified Kabota grill it won't hold as much chain as the others posted above.

I don't carry a chain anymore. Chains are way too much trouble. The backhoe thumb and the grapple are way easier.

Bought a piece of PVC pipe. Capped the bottom and drilled a few holes in the bottom for drainage and zip tied it to the foot shield.

I bought a cap to cover the top also if I leave the tractor out in the rain. But seldom use it.

You can also buy removable caps and use in the round tube where your loader mounts. You need a sleeve of 4 inch pipe notched to work as a bushing and then use the removable cap to plug the big round tube on our loader mounts. This will hold a 12 foot long chain and one could also be used as tool storage. I bought my caps at HD in the plumping section. They are the ones with a large wingnut to tighten them down
