Speaking of reparations......I have no idea of how we could ever give reparations or who we would give them to in a fair way. I highly doubt that it could be done because the people who have to give out the money are not the people who did the wrong and the people getting the money are not the people who were wronged.
In my area, (New Orleans area) if anyone was treated badly enough to be due reparations it would be the Irish. Read my link below to see how thousands of them died building the Basin Street canal because slave owners would not let their valuable slaves do that dangerous work. Slaves were much more valuable at that time than immigrant Irishmen who died by the hundreds every day trying to feed their families.
This dangerous work went on for many years with thousands of migrants doing the dirty work and dying for next to nothing as my grandfather did while building the Panama Canal. It would be impossible to give reparations to ancestors of those who lived a hard life in the past by ancestors of those now living because every color, religion, and nationality has been on both sides of that fence whether they be white, black, native American, Oriental or something in between.
America is the greatest country in the world with millions dying to live here and Americans have for years been trying to make this the land of opportunity for all of our citizens and the main difference between our population now is because some are willing to work for what they want and some want to have it all without working. In no other country are people allowed to demonstrate, protest and commit various acts of violence and destruction in order to get something they are not entitled to as in America and someday, we can only hope, that through law enforcement, education of the masses, and equality for all, that we as a country will not self-destruct.
