[Industrial Toys]

We normally use the hot tub, often cool, as a hot, mid summer days break, but ran it hot more than usual. And, a few times heated it, and never felt like going in. Maybe used it a little more than six times TOTAL. Hourmeter I have on 5KW heater showed 160 hours. Depending on how you figure the energy bill, with debt retirement charges and so forth, if you figure 20 cents cdn per KWH, that's $160.00! A bit of a shocker! Hardly worth it!

I have one of those dinky 10' diameter, 3' deep surface pools. More than enough to get in and soak after a hot day. Sun gets the water to 85+ sometimes. They recommend running the pump 2 hours a day. I think I ran it two hours a week or less and the water stayed usable. More KwHrs saved.

Tried solar, but not in a good spot on the north sie of a hill and forest and not geographically. Plus the hottest sunny days is when we don't want it hot.

Built a boiler out of an old wood stove and that was a pain and inefficient. Plus upwind of the house and with windows open all summer, let smoke into the house.

It would still interest me, to know more about how so many people claim to operate their hot tubs on pennies.

Most smart phones these days have the option to turn on a wifi hotspot. Then you can connect to that from your computer.

It costs though. If you only have limited data on your phone it doesn't take long to go over.

Oh I don't know about that one.

I know a few people who are dirty but see themselves clean in the mirror.
