can someone tell me in English how to set the float position on the 3 pt hitch. I also want to change out the hydo fluid but can,t seem to locate a drain plug. This is the last newbe question for the day----the handle jabbing my right calf is the PTO engage-desengage [I think] If I want 540 I set the lever to 540,push the clutch in,push the PTO engage down, release the clutch and the PTO shaft should turn.-----am I correct? Sorry for a long winded post. So far I love my Farm Pro---got 41 hours on it. thank for any help---the help from the people on this site is absolutely fantastic.

Hi There,

Not sure what you mean by "set the float position"? The 2425
doesn't have draft control and as such has 3 positions or modes
for the lift. Aft is lift, neutral is static and forward is float or drop.
If you want to set where the lower arms sit when down you can
do it either with the closed turnbuckles that support the arms or
by moving the turnbuckles lower clevis. And yes you are correct on the pto operation.

As Bolton mentioned, the 3PH float position is when the control lever is all the way forward/down. This lowers the 3PH arms/impliment and leaves the impliment either setting on the ground under it's own weight(box scraper, rear blade, rake ect) or hanging at the lower limit of the arm's travel(mower deck).

The drain for the Hydraulics should be located at the left rear of the 3PH lift box. It should be around the lower left corner of the lift cylinder cover plate/toplink attach point. At a casual glance, it appears to be just another bolt that bolts the toplink bracket onto the back of the lift box. It also drains better with the front of the tractor elevated but expect a mess down the back side of the tactor. On mine It was a little easier to get a container up closer to it with the PTO shaft guard removed but it still made a mess.

You are correct about the PTO operation. You should also have a neutral position on the speed lever between the 540 and 1000 RPM positions. I am about to cut off most of that engage/disengage lever on my 284 as I sometimes step on it and cause it to grind while getting on the tractor when it is running.

Oh! forgot to mention on the drain, it's 16mm. Try a 17mm
which is standard for most metric sets bought in the US and
you'll chew it up. 16mm and 18mm are popular on Jinma's.

Regards again
