More rear work lights

I put two hoobs 3 x 5 flood lights on my new 4300 and still made a place for my tiltmeter. 1/8 x 2 x 2 x 3 1/2 in angle iron was the ticket for me. No new holes in ROPS.

Re: More rear work lights

DDT, welcome. I hope you enjoy your new tractor. I've got a question I have to ask, is that the way you want your tilt meter to read front to rear, instead of side to side?

Re: More rear work lights

Yes I need two tiltmeter's. There is a big one in front of the sterring wheel for side tilt, and the other one is for front to back tilt. I do alot of lanscapeing so I'm always makeing water run some where else (away from house and buildings). I go to the top side and drive very slow and wacth the front to back to see if water will run right and this also helps get the high and low spots found so they can be corrected. They also work great for dressing up a pond dam, since you need it level both ways.

Re: More rear work lights

Yea, I like the idea about reading grade with it. Is that the 7489? The one that's calibrated to read a 3 to 1 pitch as 20 degrees.

Re: More rear work lights

DDT,
How did you wire up the lights? I was also going to just use the hobbs light on the back of mine. I thought $40 from jd for just one rear light was too much.

Re: More rear work lights

Richard, I have used the same light on my 855. but since they can't get them I went to JD and they had them for $19.21 each plus tax. I used the factory wires at the bottom of the rops. It took longger to make the brackets than any thing else.
If I remember right a 3 to 1 slope is 20 degree's
