I find flat land fascinating because you folks actually have a horizon that seems to stretch on forever! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Here in Vermont I can only see as far as the next hill unless I climb to the top of Mansfield or Camel's Hump.

When we drove to the Finger Lakes region a couple of years ago for the TBN Meet my wife and I spent hours staring at the distant horizon. It was a real treat! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Pete:

A favorite saying of people from surrounding states about Michigan is that "the only hills in Michigan are the off ramps for the freeways"

Not true. We do have lumps here and there. Just try Sherman Hill in the winter.

The only "stupid" or should I say inattentive truck drivers I see are "door slammers" /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I was on I96 eastbound this morning between Wyoming and Schaefer. A lady in a suv loaded with people tried to pass me in the hammer lane. Needless to say, the lane was slushy to say the least. She got in the slush, the suv wiggled a bit, she panicked and stabbed the brake. Just as I cleared her with the back of my trailer, she shot to the right across 4 lanes and hit the wall. Then she shot back across 4 lanes and hit the median barrier. I went back the same way after unloading at my customer. The State Police as well as a roll off wrecker was there loading the suv. It was wiped out. I think the occupants were too. That one didn't go to the bump shop, it went to the bone yard. Tomorrow....same forecast.

Just another morning in the Motor City. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey Daryl; What was the chances that the tags on that suv were buckeye. Long live MICHIGAN, best in the midwest. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The only hill I have on my property was formed by the 500 yards of excavated material that was dug out in my backyard for a new foundation. I leveled the top off and now it's my ATV climbing hill. Many people seem to think flat areas are boring and that may be true but it sure makes for good farmland.

Back to the subject, it has been snowing non stop since early this morning and so far almost nine inches have come down.
With a temperature of 20 degrees and a gusting wind I feel sorry for the poor folks working outdoors today. I was out on my ATV plowing for hours this afternoon, but when the piles get two feet deep it runs out of traction. Tomorrow I can finally see how my JD works in deep snow. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This type of driver isn't particular to MI for sure. The ditches up here are standing room only for the first couple of snows. Then most folks figure out - again- that snow is slick.
