Nice, this is the sort of idea I'm looking for. Now I really need to get a welder! I want to build something just like that with some tool holders etc, and fill the bottom 6" with concrete.

Good idea about adding the concrete if you are wanting ballast all the time. I built this box just for toting things, primarily hauling firewood out of the timber. It is a little small (48"x30") but I wanted to keep it inside the tractor width for narrow timber trails. When I add rear remotes to the tractor, I'll put on a dump cylinder.

I built a Tote Box that could also serve as Ballast. It doesn't weigh 400 lbs though. I'm guessing 140 lbs. Is latched to prevent accidental dumps. Could be filled with kids, or whatever for ballast!!!

Has anyone built such a carry-all for the 3 point hitch? I'm looking for ideas. I want something that weighs in near that 400 lb mark for loader work...

How about a generic palate fork? You could then stick a 200 liter barrel on it full of water for 400 pounds. You could also strap a nice wooden box to it for hauling kids and other stuff.

Personally, I don't like single-use solutions.
